Introduction for Visa application for China-Mainland

Welcome to China. Before you apply your visa for China please read the following items carefully, and if you require more information, please contact the visa section of the Embassy.

Item I – Submission of Application

If you wish to enter China for (1) Tourism, (2) Business (3) Conference/Government to Government affairs, (4) Study (5) Employment (6) Transit, you can apply the visa from Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu and you should provide the following in your application:

(1) Tourism:
a. Application form [*] affixed one photograph.
b. Invitation letter from China issued by Authorized Tourism Organization or Individual
c. Applicant’s Passport

(2) Commercial Business:
a. Application form affixed one photograph.
b. Invitation letter from China issued by commercial organization or company
c. Applicant’s Passport

(3) Conference / Government to Government affairs:
a. Application form affixed one photograph
b. Conference / Government Invitation letter from China
c. Applicant’s Passport

(4) Study
a. Application form affixed one photograph
b. Approval Notice from China issued by Authorized University / Institute
c. Certificate of Physical Examination issued by Authorized Medical Organization
d. Applicant’s Passport

(5) Working / Employment
a. Application form affixed one photograph
b. Working / Employment Permit Certificate issued by Authorized Labor Department of Government from China
c. Working / Employment Certificate or Invitation Letter issued by the Employer from China
d. Visa Notice to the Embassy issued by Authorized Government Office from China
e. Applicant’s Passport

(6) Transit:
a. Application form affixed one photograph
b. Visa issued by the country / area applicant wish to visit

Item II – Processing time

Under normal circumstances, you can pick up your visa after 3 working days after the date of your application. Priority will be given to those who hold Diplomatic or Official Passport. In case you want to pick up your visa more earlier, you should pay urgent fee. So, applicants are therefore advised to allow ample time for the processing of their application.

Item III – Visa fee payment

You will pay the visa fee when you pick up your visa. Visa fee: 2,200 Nepalese Rupee. For same day collection: 2,100 Rupee extra. For third day collection: 1,500 Rupee extra.
Free of Charge for Diplomatic / Official Passport holder.
