The Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu recently donated a batch of teaching
aids to the Bishwo Bhasa Campus of Tribhuvan University to help the campus
to open a separate Chinese Department.
The department was inaugurated by the Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Mr.
Wu Congyong on August 22 in Bishwo Bhasa Campus. The Ambassador highly
appraised the Sino-Nepalese friendship. He said that China and Nepal have
been developing good relations in different fields including education.
With the help of these teaching facilities donated by the Chinese Embassy,
the teaching level of Chinese language could be further improved, and
the Chinese language students would benefit from the newly established
Chinese reference room, where the students could read the Chinese books
and watch Chinese movies, said the Chinese Ambassador.
Campus chief Bala Ram Aryal said the Chinese Embassy had contributed
a lot to establish the department. “The establishment of a separate
department will help in the teaching-learning activity of the Chinese
language”, he added.
The Chinese Ambassador handed over the teaching aids to the campus chief
at the inauguration program, including books, one TV set and one DVD player.
The Embassy also donated furniture and other decorative materials to the
new Chinese Department.
