A farewell party was held by Arniko Society of Nepal for the Nepalese
students who have been provided with Chinese Government Scholarship for
the year 2003-2004 on August 24, 2003 in Kathmandu.
The president of Arniko Society Anoop Ranjan Bhattarai encouraged the
students to study Chinese language which has become an important international
language since the opening-up policy was adopted by the Chinese government
20-odd years ago. “With the help of the Chinese government, more
and more Nepalese students obtained opportunities for their higher studies,
it is beneficial to development of Nepal” he added at the farewell
party. First secretary Liang Bin from the Chinese Embassy congratulated
the Chinese Government Scholarship holders and extended his good wishes
at the program. He encouraged the students to study hard in China and
return to Nepal to serve their own country after completing their study.
He wished that they could also contribute to Nepal-China friendship by
playing the role of bridge between the two peoples.
38 Nepalese students have been provided with Chinese Government Scholarship
for the year 2003-2004. The Chinese government has been providing scholarships
to Nepal since a cultural agreement was reached between the two governments
in 1964. Now there are over 100 Nepalese students studying in China with
the support of Chinese Government Scholarship every year. The Chinese
Government Scholarship graduates have played important role in the socio-economic
development process of Nepal.
